Junior Doctor Training Program (JDTP)
(formerly Commonwealth Medical Internship program)
Thank you for your interest in an Internship for 2019 with Ramsay Health Care under the Private Hospital Stream, Junior Doctor Training Program (JDTP) (formerly Commonwealth Medical Internship program).
Ramsay Health Care, a market leading operator of private hospitals in Australia, currently operates 73 private hospitals and day surgery facilities throughout Australia. Ramsay Health Care is a significant contributor to training in the private sector primarily through its sites at Greenslopes Private Hospital (GPH) in Queensland and Hollywood Private Hospital (HPH) in Western Australia and training partnerships with regional and rural hospitals.
The purpose of the JDTP is to assist private hospitals to provide internships for international full-fee paying graduates from on-shore Australian medical schools ensuring these medical graduates are able to complete requirements for general registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
In 2017, Ramsay Health Care was approved under the Commonwealth Medical Internship (CMI) program for a total of 54 Intern positions for 2018 at two of our facilities.
We hope to be approved for the same number through the JDTP for 2019, however we are awaiting further information from The Department of Health to confirm this including details for the program in 2019. Please monitor the Department of Health’s website for information on the program as it is released.
If you are interested in receiving information on the program once released by The Department of Health at either of these hospitals, please email:
